Purchase and installation of a new fire curtain.

Restoration and renovation of the main façade, and conservation and restoration of the decorative paintings, stucco work, and gilded wood carvings in the hallways and public areas.

Upgrades to the theatre’s acoustics and partial replacement of seating in the auditorium.

Removal of the ticket booth, new roof for the building, and new flooring in the hall.

Renovation project led by Architect Guilherme Rebello de Andrade. The railing and canopy were removed; the foyer was renovated; the staircases were replaced; an elevator was installed; the Grand Hall and the stalls were refurbished; old rose-colored damask fabric was installed in the boxes; and the red wallpaper was removed. New light fixtures were installed, the medallions were all restored, the boxes at the entrance to the stalls were removed, a Beiriz carpet was laid in the VIP corridor, the orchestra pit was extended under the stage, and a cyclorama was installed. The adjacent building on Rua Serpa Pinto became an integral part of the theatre, complementing the administrative areas, rehearsal spaces, dressing rooms, and production support facilities.

Interior renovations were carried out by architect Ventura Terra (including the grand hall, foyer, etc.). On the exterior, a canopy was added, and the arches were enclosed with iron-and-glass doors.

A new chandelier and stage lighting were installed, along with improvements to the iron curtain. The proscenium curtain was replaced with a crimson velvet curtain bearing the royal coat of arms. Additional works included the creation of a new chorus room, restoration of the ceiling, and construction of a new roof with Marseille tiles (replacing the former Moorish-tiled roof), as well as new roof framing.

The building on Duques de Bragança Street is incorporated into the theatre.

The stage is moved back to widen the gap by two meters.

Construction of the dressing rooms at the back of the stage.

Renovation of the reception room ceiling.

Construction of two additional boxes at the entrance to the audience seating area. The boxes were upholstered in bright pink fabric, the gilded trim was cleaned, the stage platform was redecorated, and a new proscenium curtain was installed.
